Configure Default Behavior

Use "Disallow All" only during site development. Remember to change it back when your site is live.
Set Crawl Delay
Control how frequently search engines can request pages from your server. This helps prevent server overload.
For high-traffic sites, set a crawl delay of 5-10 seconds. For smaller sites, "No Delay" is usually fine.
Add Sitemap URL
Provide the full URL to your sitemap to help search engines discover your content faster.
Always include your sitemap. Most SEO plugins generate one at /sitemap_index.xml
Select Search Engines
Choose specific search engines you want to apply custom rules to. Most sites can leave these unselected.
If you need to block specific engines from certain content, select them here and set custom rules.
Disallow Folders
Add any folders you want to block from search engines. Always include a trailing slash (e.g., /private/).
Common folders to disallow: /wp-admin/, /wp-includes/, /cgi-bin/, and any private user folders.
Generate & Implement
Click "Generate" to create your robots.txt file, then copy or download it. Upload to your site's root directory.
Test your robots.txt with Google Search Console to ensure it's working as expected.
